Often in our artistic endeavours we find tape we've stuck in the wrong place, a label that's hard to remove or a glue dot that is just a little 'off'. We search for some way of removing the offending article, our concern is even greater if the work is for sale or exhibition. One of our products below will remedy the situation, they remove the 'sticky stuff' and adhesive. They have been tested on all of these surfaces and are suitable for use on paper, canvas, mount-board, wood, china, glass, fabric, leather, parchment and velum papers, acetate and plastic, they can also be used to remove adhesive and glue from the skin and hair.

It can prove difficult to remove Hinging and similar tape from art work without the help of a solvent to soften and dissolve the adhesive. Without solvent help there is a risk of damage to the art work or the mount-board or backing to which it is attached. Zest-it Artists Adhesive Remover has undergone testing by members of the Fine Art Trade Guild and has been used for many years by Framers and Conservators. The Adhesive Remover is non-toxic and non-flammable with a pH of 7-8 making it ideal for this application.

To use for Hinging Tape Removal

Hinging tapes (sometime call Framers tapes) are used on photographs and art work to secure it to a matt or surround. If this needs to be removed it's important that neither are damaged, the solvent needs to be none staining and leave no residue of itself.
To remove the tape; take a soft long filament brush and use this to apply a small amount of Zest-it to the edges of the tape, between the edges and the surface to which it is attached. Leave for about 2 minutes, as the brush is moved it will slide between the tape and the surface as the Zest-it releases the tape. Apply as necessary untill the tape can be fully removed. Any sticky residue left by the tape can recieve another application of Zest-it and removed with a cotton bud or similar.
Allow the surface to dry completely (24/36 hours) before attaching any new tape to the area.
Available in 50 ml and 500 ml sizes (larger sizes on request)

To use for Glue Dot Removal

Glue Dots are so usefull especially to Decoupage, Carders and Craft artists, there-again, like all good adhesive, can be difficult to remove. Zest-it Artists Adhesive Remover will do the job cleanly and efficiently, it is non-flammable, non-toxic and almost pH neutral, works for glue dots, micro dots, sticky pads, foam pads, velcro type tape and pads.
To remove the dots, take a soft brush or cotton bud, apply Glue dot remover to the surface and around the dot. It also helps to prick the surface of the dot with a pin, this allows the remover to penetrate the dot more throughly and speeds removal.
Allow the remover to dwell on the dot for 1 to 2 minutes, Zest-it is not an aggressive solvent so patience is always rewarded, use a spatular or similar to ease the edges of the dot. Use the wet bud to apply a little more, tweezers are useful at this point, hold the dot and slide the brush between the dot and the surface, watch carefully as the Zest-it Adhesive Remover does its work. Ease the dot from the surface and discard. If sticky residue remains, wet it again with the bud and use the soft brush to collect the sticky stuff that remains. Allow to dry throughly, if paper 24 to 36 hours, if a non-pourous surface then wipe clean and dry with a soft cloth, leave for 10 minutes to make sure the Zest-it Remover has throughly evaporate from the surface.
