Dawn Lawrence
An artist whose work has been
inspired by both William Wyllie and Martin Snape, Dawn’s passion for
marine subjects gives her the scope for the dramatic play of light and
water.
Using a variety of techniques including acrylic, watercolour and mixed
media, she has undertaken commissions for the Royal Navy and foreign
navies including those of Holland and Germany. She has also recently
completed a series of commissions for the newly acquired “Upholder” Class
submarines of the Royal Canadian Navy,
In April 2001, she won a prestigious award
from the Laing Group at the Mall Galleries, London.
Dawn has embarked in ships at sea in
order to capture the daily lives of their ship’s companies and witness
operations of their embarked aircraft. She undertakes commissions and
sells her work to both the public and private collections world-wide.
